Effective staff supervision training for managers and senior staff in public, voluntary and health settings.
Particular attention is paid to the tensions between the organisation’s needs, those of the worker or staff group, and those of the service user or client. The programme also recognises that supervisors are often used by colleagues as on-the-hoof ‘consultants’, and it helps to develop appropriate skills for doing this most effectively.
The programme focuses on the recognition of feelings stirred up in the workplace as a key process of the work being done.
The programme is available to organisations across the country as an in-house course. It can be delivered as two lots of two days, as a four-day intensive course, or in other ways that meet the organisation’s needs – for example, over a regular programme of half-days. The organising tutor is happy to work with organisations and managers to determine what would work best for them.
