Why commission couple therapy?
Research evidence demonstrates the crucial importance of the quality of couple relationships, not only for the mental health and well-being of adult partners, but for their children as well.
Over the last thirty years, the evidence base for the effectiveness of couple therapy has grown, showing that couple counselling interventions have a significant positive impact on poor mental and physical health, depression, drug abuse, alcoholism and domestic violence.
Research has shown not only the serious consequences for children living with parents in conflict but also how the inter-parental conflict can be reduced which brings significant improvements in educational attainment, mental and physical health of children, the building blocks for a successful, economically productive adult life. With over 60 years experience TCCR can help add the critical element – the couple relationship – to existing or new services.
Where is the evidence?
