We are delighted to announce that Honor Rhodes, Director of Projects and Strategic Development at The Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships, has been awarded an OBE for her services to children and families.
Honor has a long standing interest in the couple relationship, influenced by her early training, and has developed a range of services to meet the needs of couples in trouble and distress.
After many years of work in local authority children and family service Honor joined the voluntary sector as Director of Services for Family Action and then went on to become Chief Executive at Coram Family and from there to take up the post of Director of Development at the Family and Parenting Institute.
Honor's other positions include a Non-Executive Directorship of NHS City and Hackney, with special responsibility for children's health and wellbeing and the services provided by the PCT, she is also a Trustee of the WAVE Trust.
Honor Rhodes said, ' I feel so honoured to be given an OBE, no pun intended, what it recognises, I think, is the work that people in the voluntary sector do because they choose to, making a practical and real difference to the lives of children. Organisations like the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships are helping parents to be better ones. So I have accepted the honour on behalf of everyone who works in this field, sung and unsung heroes and heroines together.'
